Why Dormot?

Dormot was founded in 2000 as Van Bodegraven's own motor brand, rooted in more than 125 years of motor practice from Dordrecht and Rotterdam, port cities intertwined with shipping and industry since the seventeenth century. The brand was born in the workshop, not in a marketing department: customers asked for a consistent, documented answer to replacement questions that no OEM programme covered. Three product lines provide that answer: Pro for European certified duty, Core for class certified marine service and Renew for reconditioned and unused motors from stock. Dormot Core is our price-conscious line for class-certified non-essential service. Manufactured by selected Asian producers with complete IACS class documentation. Specifically developed for ventilation, pump and auxiliary drives on merchant vessels where essential-service certification is not required. A price-conscious choice while retaining class acceptance.

Dormot Renew, reconditioned or unused motors with as-new condition

Dormot Renew is our refurbished product line: industrial and marine motors fully stripped, tested, rewound where necessary, fitted with new bearings and marine coating, and balanced in our Dordrecht workshop. After revision they receive a class survey and are directly available from stock.
