What is the M3BP?

The M3BP series is ABB's Process Performance cast iron line and has long been the workhorse in chemical, petrochemical, water/wastewater, food process and heavy mechanical handling. The cast iron construction provides longer service life in harsh operating conditions, better cooling at high ambient temperatures, and greater robustness against shocks or vibrations compared to aluminium versions.

What is the difference between ABB M3BP and M2BAX?

The M3BP is ABB's Process Performance cast iron line for heavy process industry (chemical, petrochemical, water/wastewater) with IE2/IE3/IE4 efficiency and frame 71 through 500. The M2BAX is the General Performance variant: same cast iron base but for general industrial applications, frame 71 through 355, IE3/IE4. M3BP has K-gen winding optimisation and more advanced paint system; M2BAX is cheaper and fits well where no specific process requirement applies.
