What is the M2BAX?

The M2BAX series is ABB's General Performance cast iron line, a solid, affordable workhorse motor for general industrial applications. Compared to the M3BP the M2BAX has slightly less advanced features (no K-gen winding optimisation, simpler paint system) but the same basic construction: cast iron housing, standardised IEC flange dimensions, IP55.

For general industrial applications (general water transport, standard HVAC, light to medium-heavy compressors, general conveyors, OEM machine building) M2BAX is often sufficient and commercially more attractive. For heavy process industry (chemical, petrochemical, water/wastewater with aggressive environment) choose M3BP for longer service life and better coating.

Which pole counts does M2BAX have?

M2BAX is available in 2-pole (3,000 rpm sync), 4-pole (1,500 rpm), 6-pole (1,000 rpm) and 8-pole (750 rpm) versions. For 10-pole or 12-pole versions we refer to M3BP.

Does M2BAX have standard PTC?

Yes, all M2BAX motors come standard with PTC thermal protection in the winding. PT100 is available on request. For explosion-hazardous environments we refer to the ATEX versions M3JP, M3KP or M3GP.
