What is an Ex tb motor?

An Ex tb motor (formerly Ex tD) is certified for zones where an explosive dust mixture may occur. The motor has a hermetically sealed housing, optimised IP rating (IP6x), and special surface temperature limitation to prevent dust ignition.

Ex tb is deployed where fine flammable substances can occur in suspension.

What is the difference between Zone 21 and Zone 22?
Zone 21: regular occurrence of explosive dust mixture (during normal operation); comparable risk level to Zone 1 for gas. Zone 22: rare or no occurrence of explosive dust mixture; comparable to Zone 2. For both zones the same Ex tb category 2D applies with different equipment categories, we verify at quote which exact category you need.
